2012 Jeep Wrangler
The 2012 Jeep Wrangler was awarded the second annual Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Award for "Hottest 4x4-SUV" at the 2011 SEMA Show in Las Vegas Nov. 1. Mopar President and CEO Pitero Gorlier was on hand to accept the award.

"The Jeep Wrangler has an incredible enthusiast following," Gorlier said, "and with hundreds of Mopar parts and accessories available for it, it is clearly one of our most customized vehicles."

The SEMA Award marked the fourth such honor awarded to the Jeep Wrangler during a 10-day stretch. Previous awards included the prestigious "4x4 of the Year" crown from Petersen's 4-Wheel & Off-Road magazine, the "Mid-size SUV of Texas" award by the Texas Auto Writers Association, and "Best Off-Road Value" in the Active Lifestyle Vehicle awards competition.

The SEMA Show is the premier automotive specialty products trade event in the world, featuring two million square feet of exhibits and attracting more than 100,000 visitors each year from more than 100 countries. SEMA was founded in 1963 to bring together aftermarket manufacturers, original equipment manufacturers, media, car dealers, specialty distributors, installers, retailers and restoration specialists.

The SEMA Award was introduced in 2010 to honor vehicles that the association believes are the best platforms for accessorization. The award recognizes vehicles in four categories - "Hottest Car," "Hottest Sport-Compact," "Hottest Truck" and "Hottest 4x4-SUV."

"Wrangler owners love to modify their vehicles, often at purchase with dealer-installed Mopar parts, and throughout their ownership experience.

"For 2012, Jeep Wrangler is an even better customization platform, with more fuel efficiency, power and capability than ever before."

The 2012 Jeep Wrangler features an all-new, more efficient and more powerful 3.6L Pentastar V-6 engine (winner of the prestigious Ward's 10 Best Engines Award) that delivers 285hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, as well as a new five-speed automatic transmission for refined shifting and greater performance.
